As you have studied others, who do you most admire and why: “I most admire Jackie Robinson because he tried his best and didn’t let other people get to him and cause him to give up even though it was very difficult.”

Who in your life has been most important in helping you “mold” your character? “Both of my parents have helped mold my character. My mom is a teacher and is smart and my dad is a police officer and is brave.”

Future plans: “I would like to be a professional basketball player or a second-grade teacher.”

Teacher statement: “Matt Coiner quietly goes about his business of being a model student,” Mrs. Pickett said. “He makes the right choices, is kind and caring to others, always remembers his manners and is very responsible. Matt does all of this because it is the right thing to do, not because he wants recognition or rewards. We are very lucky to have Matt at Paul Norton Elementary School.”
