Chamber of Commerce adds 110 members

Growing membership and strengthening partnerships in 2008 gives the Bettendorf Chamber of Commerce a launching pad into the new year.

“During the past year, the chamber added 110 new members and posted a record 92 percent retention of current members,” said Bob Lundin, president and chief executive officer. “This brings total membership to 671.”

He said an important link to the future is the city’s school-to-careers program, a partnership with the LeClaire Chamber of Commerce and Bettendorf and Pleasant Valley school districts.

Lundin said challenges for this year will be affected by economic struggles nationally and locally.

“The projected worsening of the economy is of paramount concern to members,” he said. “The chamber must be poised and ready to anticipate and meet an array of member needs.”
